Development and verification of density-based solver using LU-SGS algorithm in OpenFOAM

Research Motivation

OpenFOAM is not able to deal with compressible flow problems because it was especially developed for solving incompressible flow problems.


Key Idea

A development and verification of density-based solver using LU-SGS algorithm is performed as follows.



Results

Several validation cases are solved numerically and compared with the references. The comparison results show that the density-based solver creates reasonable results compared to the commercial software (i.e., FLUENT).
