Sponsored Research (Korea Airports Corporation)
Research Motivation
As air travel demand in South Korea continues to grow in the post-COVID-19 era, the Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) has concerns about the environmental impacts related to airport noise, particularly in densely populated areas surrounding the Gimpo international airport. In response to these concerns, the KAC plans to explore various what-if scenarios, such as deploying low-noise aircraft, to establish effective noise mitigation strategies.
Key Idea
This research proposes a methodology that leverages a data-driven approach with AEDT that includes four different steps: 1) Data collection and preparation, 2) AEDT-based simulation model development, 3) Sensitivity analysis, and 4) What-if scenario analysis.
Overview of the proposed methodology
Results
This research is an on-going effort. Details about the results will be updated as they become available.
